No More Wasted PLR Ever Again!

Welcome! Let me just say that a friend of mine has been a member of a PLR (private label rights) site for a year but hasn't used a single PLR content package yet. I was just aghast when he told me this. Can you imagine how much money this friend of mine has wasted? Let's make a quick computation: $29/month x 12 months = $348.

Well, I can think of a lot better ways to spend – or waste – $348! That's more than enough money for a Kodak flip camera, or a wi fi colour printer, or an Internet marketing course, a few hours of virtual assistant services, or my daughter's orthodontic fees for a month, for Pete's sake! And this doesn't even include the amount of money that my friend could have made if he had used all that PLR.

I quickly convinced him to drop his PLR membership and try a smarter way of getting the PLR he needs and can really use. If you yourself are in a PLR membership program and are not making the most of all the PLR content you're receiving, consider this:

With PLR memberships, you usually don't know what you're going to get every month.

You can receive anything from natural remedies for dandruff, to how to hack an iPhone – but you just never know what you're going to get with a PLR membership. Now, this is fine if you're into niche marketing and your business model is to create hundreds of niche mini-sites… and that you do so every time you receive new PLR content.

But, if your business is limited to a handful of blogs or a specific target market, then you will not be able to use most of the PLR you get from your membership that is not niche specific.

OK, some membership sites are focused on more specific topics, such as natural health or Internet marketing. If that's the case, there's a better chance you can easily use the PLR. Still, more times than not, you don't know the exact topic for each month, which can make it hard to plan how/where youíll use the content.

With PLR memberships, you pay month after month even if you cannot or will not use the content provided.

The convenient thing about memberships is that your credit card is charged every month without you thinking about it. That's convenient for the membership site owner, but not necessarily for you. What it does mean is that you pay for the PLR content – whether or not you can use them. If the PLR materials stay in your hard drive (if you downloaded them at all), either because the topic is not relevant to your niche or you were just plain too busy to use them, well, you're out of luck. You pay for them anyway.

Some PLR memberships don't limit the number of members, so you end up with a lot of competition for the same product.

Let's say you are an action person and you do use and market each PLR product you receive. If the membership site doesn't put a cap on the number of members, you could find yourself competing with a gazillion other marketers trying to sell the same infoproduct. This can lead to a price war… and you simply cannot win.

It seems to me that there are better ways to get PLR content than through a membership site. Look for a PLR provider that:

  • Lets you know exactly what you're getting – what the topic is, and whether it's an article, eBook, special report, eCourse, software, video, audio or something else
  • Lets you buy only what you want, and doesn't punish you for buying what you don't want or need
  • Limits the number of PLR content it sells, so that the market does not get flooded with the same products
